The Center for Adaptive Management
The
mission of THE CENTER FOR ADAPTIVE MANAGEMENT is
to enable organizational members to continually adapt and advance
in their changing environments, through evolving, practicing, and
advocating the Adaptive Management Model. THE CENTER FOR
ADAPTIVE MANAGEMENT is a nonprofit foundation dedicated
to the search, identification and practice of advanced management
models, structures and processes which are predicated upon and linked
to universal scientific principles. THE CENTER's current
products and services include executive symposiums, management dialogue
sessions, topical workshops, reading materials, and other select
or custom member programs.
The
knowledge bases possessed and managed by THE CENTER
have been progressively evolved, tested, refined and utilized over
a fifteen year period and represent the embodiment of both the individual
and collective contributions from a select group of practicing professional,
scientific and business management thought leaders.
The
output from this group's knowledge-building process has resulted
in the discovery of a new order of management concepts and principles.
This new order not only provides a unique way to think about and
describe the environment but, as equally important, provides a concise
framework that can through proper implementation enable the entity
to internalize and replicate a management model and language that
results in a consistent value system being integrated into the decision
making process at all scales of the management entity.
This
consistent value system is essential for enabling the entity to
manage across multiple scales, thus becoming the "keystone"
for perpetuating advancement through the process of dynamic
self-referencing.
THE CENTER's ability to maintain its focus, quality of knowledge
bases and services is enabled through corporate memberships and
the receipt of endowments, grants, and sponsorships. In addition,
THE CENTER receives fees from symposiums and obtains retainers
and fees for consultation. It has collaboration arrangements
with both public/private institutions and entities which are committed
to evolving management structures, processes and relationships that
will enable them to progressively adapt to future environments.
During
the course of each year and on a highly selective basis, THE
CENTER and its members accept
invitations to either speak at or participate in symposiums, conferences
and programs sponsored by international/national organizations or
educational institutions.
Consistent
with the mission, the primary purpose of THE CENTER FOR ADAPTIVE
MANAGEMENT is to assist our
member organizations in successfully directing the establishment
of an adaptive management culture and align the appropriate structures,
strategies, processes and practices to support the perpetuation
or transformation processes throughout their organization.
This assistance is provided in the form of materials, programs,
and services for our organizational members that incorporate current
thoughts as to how people and organizations function adaptively.
Since
THE CENTER's mission focuses
on supporting members in their effort to successfully implement
transformation processes within their organization, our programs,
although providing individual benefits, are designed primarily to
support and promote organizational goals. However, the establishment
of transformation processes starts with individuals, and in
recognition of this, our programs are dedicated to first exposing
individuals who hold the highest level of responsibility within
the organization to the principles of Adaptive Management, and then
helping them apply those principles to the managerial issues which
are relevant to their particular longer term challenges.
Currently
THE CENTER offers a symposium
which is designed to provide prospective members an orientation
of THE CENTER FOR ADAPTIVE MANAGEMENT and in addition, an
overview of The Adaptive Management Model. This symposium
lasts three days and is open to any manager with significant organizational
responsibilities. For more information about the symposium
and a current schedule click here.
